1920's VAN BRIGGLE ART POTTERY NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN THREE FACES VASE
Very rare and stunningly beautiful, 1920's Van Briggle Art Pottery Vase known as the "Three Faces Indian Vase" in a fantastic two tone, matte glaze. This awe inspiring Van Briggle Vase is very heavy and measures approx. 11 3/4 tall and 5 1/4 in diameter at the base. It features three, molded faces of a Native American Indian that act as pillars surrounding the opening at the top.
Each face presents a different expression - sorrow, anguish and pleasure. The Vase offered here is an example of the earliest production of the Three Faces Vase and carries the thin, conjoined'A mark see on pieces from the 1920's and very early 1930's. Text below the logo mark reads simply Van Briggle / Col. The Vase offered here is unconditionally guaranteed to be an original 1920's Van Briggle and NOT a later reproduction or reissue.
The matte glaze is exceptionally well executed and this impressive, large size piece of Van Briggle Pottery is worthy of a place at the center of even the most advanced Art Pottery Collection! This wonderful, early 20th century Native American Indian form Van Briggle Vase is in very good condition - clean and crisp and well preserved. There is a single, tiny flea bite nick at the edge of the base (see the scans below) but no other chips, cracks, surface wear, damage or repairs of any kind. There is no staining or discoloration to the stunningly beautiful and uniform, soft matte glaze.
