Offered for sale is a very fine and beautiful polychrome olla by famous Acoma NM Native American potter Florence Aragon. It is decorated with Red/Orange and Black on a Cream colored ground and measures about 7 ½ inches tall and 7 ½ inches wide with a 3 7/8 inch opening. This pot is in excellent condition.Florence Aragon (1929 2010) was the daughter of noted potter Lupe Aragon and the sister of Rachel Aragon. She was also the mother of John Aragon. She learned to make pottery from her mother. She was known for her use of traditional shapes and designs on her pottery winning awards at the New Mexico state fair and Gallup Ceremonials.
