Offered is polychrome turkey figurine seed pot by the acclaimed and award winning artist Lucy Lewis (1890s-1992) of the Acoma Pueblo. She is considered to be the Acoma pottery matriarch. Lucy Lewis' works have appeared in the Smithsonian and on the Antiques Road Show (and elsewhere). Links can be found on her Wiki page. The pot measures approximately 3" tall x 2.5" deep (side to side) x 3.5 long (beak to tail).The figurine is in very good to excellent condition with some small missing flakes of the colored glaze and bare spot on the tip of the beak. There are no chips, no cracks and no repairs. The underside is signed and what looks to be a date. Please refer to the photos for the condition and signature.
