ALICE CLING Southwest Native American Indian Navajo Pottery
The hand made, stone-polished vase is approximately 4.75 inches high and 3.75 inches wide; excellent condition. Alice covers the hand-coiled vase with a thin glaze of pine pitch and then she uses a stone to smooth the surface, resulting in a mirror-like finish. The darkened areas are due to the firing process. The earth tone colors are the result of the type of clay used and the outdoor firing process; mint condition ; nicely formed and well balanced.
