Offering a stunning antique Laguna (or Acoma) Pueblo (Southwest Native American Indian) polychrome (three-color) olla pottery jar, possibly late 19th century in creation. Mimbres prehistoric-inspired spiral and geometric designs.
Thicker white clay body lends me to believe that the olla was created on the Laguna Pueblo, but very well might be Acoma. Rim is painted black-brown, and a swash of red-orange slip graces the interior of the rim. Olla is overall in very good antique condition, with surface grime and large areas of discoloration, fine cracklure of the pigment surface. One small hole that does not penetrate through the pot's wall (please see photo #6). Please pour over photos to better ascertain condition, and feel free to ask questions. Olla measures approximately 4-3/4" H x 6-1/2" Dia. Please pour over the photographs and feel free to ask questions. The item "Antique Laguna Acoma Pueblo Southwest Native American Indian Pottery Olla Pot" is in sale since Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
