A beautiful, well made, well decorated Santo Domingo or Acoma pot from around 1900. It is slightly irregular - the work of a potter who had a lot of other responsibilities, not a full time artist. That adds to the appeal as far as most collectors of antique pots are concerned.
About 7.5" wide, 4.5" high. Some antique Acoma pottery is similar to some Santo Domingo antique pottery. This a fairly light bowl, which would suggest Acoma, but the design - particularly th triangles vs open space is more typical of Santo Domingo, at least in my view.
In any event, this is a great old piece. I hope someone more knowledgeable witll offer his or her opinion. The item "Antique Native American Pottery Bowl.
