Early Vintage Acoma Pottery Canteen, Historic Native American Polychrome Pot. This Native American made pottery canteen is in good condition for it's age, with some surface wear & paint loss. Use the zoom on the photos to get a close look.
There's no chips, cracks or repairs. This is a historic pot from the early 1900's, possibly older. As with most older pieces of Native American pottery, it is not signed. This Acoma Pueblo canteen has been in my private collection for about 30 years. It is a bulbous canteen that has a flat area so it can be displayed safely.
The pot has a cream background with terra-cotta around the spout & a fabulous geometric pattern of black & terra-cotta on the front. The polychrome decoration has bright colors & fine black lines. It measures 6 1/2" high, 6 5/8" wide from handle to handle & 5 deep. It's an important, historic Acoma pottery canteen & will make a special addition to any Native American pottery collection. The item "Early Vintage Acoma Pottery Canteen, Historic Native American Polychrome Pottery" is in sale since Thursday, January 19, 2017.
