LARGE MARCUS HOMER ZUNI FROG AND TADPOLE EFFIGY POT 10 1/4. This large bowl measures approximately 10 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall. Thin walled and perfectly proportioned by a master potter! Born in 1971, Zuni potter Marcus Homer, started making pottery at the age of 7. Marcus specialized in fetish bowls used for healing powers and good fortune.

They usually include four direction rain clouds design around the edge and raised lizards, frogs, serpents, and tadpoles. This particular piece has a large raised frog in the inside base of the bowl. All of his recognizable pottery is made in the hand-coiled, traditional way. His awards and honors include the New Mexico State Fair, Northern Arizona Museum Art Show, Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial Art Show, and is in the Heard Museum of Phoenix Publication : Treasures of the Zuni by Theda Bassman. We DOUBLE BOX (with a peanut buffer) ALL POTTERY and most baskets. We've had many, many elated customers who received a severely damaged box, but found their item safe and sound in the inner box. We do not skimp on packing materials, using bubble wrap and popcorn. We recycle materials whenever possible to be environmentally friendly. Please consider the pictures, therefore, 90% of the description.
