Maria Martinez Popovi Da San Ildefanso Pueblo Black Pottery Saucer

For your consideration is a very nice small saucer by renowned New Mexico artist, Maria Martinez, jointly with her son, Povopi Da. This piece is undated (they did not start dating their pieces until 1959) therefore it dates from 1956 to 1959.

It measures approximately 5 3/4 inches across and approximately 1 inch in height. There are two small defects on the bottom of the plate: one that measures approximately 1/8 inch and the other is slightly larger than a pin prick.

There are also some very minor surface scratches from use and the remnants of the old paper backing probably the glue. This is a nice piece.
