Dimensions : 8 3/4'' tall x 10'' wide. This lovely, older Acoma vessel was hand coiled and painted in the 1940's by an unknown artist.
Judging by the great condition and lack of signature, the piece was likely given as a gift during an inter-pueblo festival and well cared for. It was recently brought in as part of an estate for a local pueblo artist, though we can confirm the pot was not made by this particular artist. The vessel is painted with black and terracotta colors that really give the piece much contrast even knowing its age. This piece is easily an amazing part of history that has still survived.
