Century Mississippi Culture clay Native American bowl. The bowl has an unusual shape with the bottom flared out below a wide decorated rim which is also slightly flared. Beautiful design with the wide rim decorated around the entire outside. This bowl was originally collected by Clarence Madden who was affiliated with the Native American Museum in Saltville, VA. This bowl was found in a cave along the New River which is the second oldest river in the world. The body of the bowl has wonderful color and condition with no cracks or repairs. 5 1/4 across 4 tall. The smaller pot listed and this pot have been together since they were found in the early 20.
