Native American Dough Bowl by Henry and Marie Lovato

Native American Dough Bowl by Henry and Marie Lovato. A Beautifully created dough bowl by Henry and Marie Lovato (Santo Domingo Pueblo, NM).

If you look at the top-inside view of the bowl, you will note a narrow area left unpainted with black. This is known as a "spirit line" and is there to allow the spirits of the "decoration area" to escape.

While the date this bowl was fired is unknown, the spirit line suggests likely at least 30 years ago. Bowl has a 7 3/8 inch diameter and is 3 3/8 inches deep. NOTE: There are a couple of very small blemishes that are shown in the main image (deer with corn stalk) just above the black bar on the left.
