Native American Made Etched Pottery by Hilda Whitegoat End of the Trail Vase

Native American Pottery by Hilda Whitegoat, Navajo. Hilda Whitegoat was born in 1967 in the Navajo Nation. Hilda was inspired to continue the long lived tradition of working with art by observing her sister, Susie Charlie, work on her pottery.

Susie, who is credited with pioneering the popular Navajo etched pottery, share the techniques of constructing the popular art form with Hilda. Hilda paints on ceramic pottery and uses a sharp blade to hand etch the pottery.

She paints and etches on all sizes of ceramic ware available to her. She signs her pottery: Hilda Whitegoat, Navajo. These collectible pieces are not water proof and are not made to hold liquids. Etching and colors will vary on these pots to create a one of a kind piece.

The placement of the horsehair on the pot while firing also makes each piece different from any other. This medium vase is 6 inches tall and 5-3/4 inches wide. It has a multi-colored End of the Trail horse and rider on the front of the pot. The top of vase is rimmed in gold, the rest of the pot is in a rainbow of beautiful colors.

These pots are not suitable for holding liquid as they are not glazed inside or out. If purchasing multiple items please request an invoice for the total amount due.
