Gerald Pinto was inspired by Japanese Raku pottery and began using a slip from Vanderwagen in combination with cedar firing to produce his distinct clouds and smoke effects. Darker tones result from the carbonizing process when the fire cools down. The final touch is the addition of 14 - 18 gauge copper bands and Kingman turquoise. See our guide to fetishes.
