Native American SAN ILDEFONSO MARIE AND SANTANA ERA POT POTTERY 1940's

This beautiful classic black on black Maria Martinez pot has been the prize of my collection. I believe this pot is one of the pieces of her pottery shown on the ground in the post card photo she did so long ago. Now I wish that I had kept the postcard with the piece. Maria and her husband Julian revived the artistry of the ancient Native people. Her daughter in law, Santana, did the decorating after Julian passed away.

Later, Maria did pots with no decoration at all. I read her story in "Maria, the Potter of San Ildefonso". I was very thrilled to acquire this piece back in the 1990's. This piece is signed, "Marie & Santana", but the signature is faint. It measures about 3 3/4 " wide and 3 7/8" high. This one would be double or triple boxed. I do my best to provide the highest quality items and represent them. All of my items are fully guaranteed. If you don't want it, just say so.

Maybe you changed your mind, you don't like the color, or you just don't like it. Items which are paid by check will be held until the check clears. The item "Native American SAN ILDEFONSO MARIE AND SANTANA ERA POT POTTERY 1940's" is in sale since Sunday, September 15, 2019.
