Native Cochiti Indian LRG 12 13-Kid Storyteller Pottery Mary Quintana Made USA. For your consideration is this fantastic hand built Cochiti Indian 13-kid storyteller sculpture by renown Cochiti potter Mary Quintana. Mary is from the Cochiti Pueblo and makes sharp looking, detailed storytellers, painted with bright colors. This fabulous sculpture has 13 kids on her shoulders, arms and lap all brightly dressed in distinct clothing with arms outstretched. The pottery sculpture measures a full 12" tall x 6" wide.

Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Quintana-Baca "Parrot" was born into the Pueblo de Cochiti in 1946. She was inspired by her mother to continue the long tradition of working with clay. She taught Mary the fundamentals of working with clay. In 1980, Quintana began actively working with clay. Mary specializes in handmade storytellers, clay sculptures and nativities. Mary has developed her own unique style of clay art. She uses all traditional handmade methods to make her art, with the exception of her colors.
