This is an Exquisite Hopi Pottery Bowl or Pot by Nellie Nampeyo, Daughter of the world renown pottery artist Nampeyo of Hano. The bowl or pot is approximately 2-1/2 inches high by 5-1/2 inches wide at the widest point. This pot is is in remarkably good condition considering it shows signs of use such as the smoke on one side. The bowl is signed on the bottom by Nellie Nampeyo.
Condition: The pot has some blemishes: There are no chips or cracks. There is smoke on one side, and a scuff mark near the smoke about 1/2 inch long that goes through the paint. All other imperfections in the pottery appear to be original to the piece. The inside is pretty clean as if not used, but does have dust in it that will clean out. There is the residue from a sales sticker on the bottom (estate sale price tag). We did not want to damage the pot scrubbing too hard, so will leave it to the new owner to determine if it needs to be cleaned more.
