This maybe a once in a decade opportunity for the collectors. Anasazi woven baskets, in any condition, are outstanding rarities.

This example, if reconstituted, would stand about 11" high and be over 6" wide. There is also a leather strap inside the basket. The basket is a decent example of how baskets were constructed and remains in wonderful condition for a 1000 year old plus perishable basket. Surviving examples are usually found in caves or alcoves where they were covered, and protected, by sand.

He had kept it in his private collection for those many years. I have, for 20 years, been a noted collector and later a respected dealer in prehistoric Native American pottery and artifacts.
