Early Vintage Hopi Indian Pottery Bowl with Kachina Head with Tableta Design, Native American Polychrome Pot. This magnificent Native American made pot is in good condition for it's age, with small chipping & paint loss on the rim. It has the appropriate amount of imperfections & scratches, including 2 paint strokes on the back that the potter did. There are no cracks or repairs.
Please use the zoom to get a good look at the rim. As with most older pieces of pottery, it is not signed.
This old Hopi pottery bowl is a beauty, it measures 7 1/8" across & 1 1/2" high. It is rather thick, measuring 8mm. The design is unique, a kachina head & neck that swirls out to the black border.
The kachina has a tableta of geometric design above the head with some feathers or branches hanging down from the bottom of the tableta. There's two unusual fleur-de-lis like patterns at the top. The pot is a buff color with a black painted design & red paint inside the kachina face.
It is a work of art & a Native American pottery collector's dream pot! Don't miss out on this historical piece of Hopi pottery, you won't find another one like it.
