Rosalie & Joe Aguilar San Ildefonso Native American Black on Black Pottery Bowl

They were married in 1922 and Rosalie moved to the San Ildefonso Pueblo where Joe was raised. They were renowned for being among the first to create Black on Black pottery from San Ildefonso Pueblo, and Rosalie has been credited with creating carved black on black pottery.

The bowl measures 2 1/2" Tall X 5 1/2" Wide and in excellent condition for a bowl approaching 100 years old. No cracks, chips, and no repairs, only minor issue is air hole seen in picture #2, approx. 1/16" wide X 1/16" deep, like the point of a lead pencil. Does not distract from overall beauty.
