Tesuque Rain God Vintage & Highly Collectible
Presented today is this very collectible Tesuque Rain God. Everyone knows the figures are not truly Rain Gods, in fact they are totally made up.
But they were magical in some sense, because they rescued Tesuque pottery from entire oblivion by their creation around the turn of the century. They are probably the very archetype of tourist pottery, but everyone likes them.This one is 6 and a half inches tall, and in superb condition. I do not believe it dates from the 1920's, nor do i believe it is modern (the Tesuque potters began signing them in the 1960's). Every collection needs a few Rain Gods.
