Large, vintage STELLA HUMA Hopi pottery pot, signed, great condition! Beautiful example of Hopi potter Stella Huma's fine work, standing 6" tall and measuring 7 1/2" in diameter (at the widest point). Condition is excellent; I can find no chips, cracks or repairs to report, and only very minor wear to the finish. Signed on the bottom by the potter.

She was a master at making thin-walled vessels, burnishing them to a very fine finish, painting them with precision and controlling her fire to achieve her desired effects. She began producing traditional pottery in 1960 and continued making pottery until she died in 1996. Among her favorite designs were rain, clouds and parrots.
