Vintage Native American Jemez Pottery N. M. Storyteller By Joyce Lucero

Vintage Early 1990's Native American Pottery Storyteller by well known Joyce Lucero from Jemez Pueblo. Originated in Jemez Pueblo 1994. This Storyteller features a Woman holding 8 small Children. Beautifully hand coiled; hand painted and made from natural clay. The children all have wonderful different expressions.

This Storyteller depicts a mother dressed in her finest telling a story to her eight children seated on her lap, hanging on her shoulder and climbing her back. The details on this piece are exquisite. The mother has a large Squash Blossom necklace in Turquoise.

Well known Joyce Lucero is from Jemez Pueblo, Fire Clan, and has been making storytellers for over 22 years; specializing in Storytellers. This Storyteller is 7" in height, 4" across, and 5 3/4 in depth. An absolutely incredible piece and in mint condition, no cracks or chips. Joyce's work is presented at The Indian Craft Shop, U. Department of the Interior, Washington, D. And included in Southwestern Pottery: Anasazi to Zuni by Hayes and Blom, and published in Berger andSchiffer's Pueblo and Navajo Contemporary Pottery, and several other publications.
