Nicolasa Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo was the daughter of Tomacita and Agapito Naranjo and granddaughter of Sara Fina Tafoya and a cousin of Margaret Tafoya. She has been recognized for her pottery making, mostly blackware and occassional redware. She collaborated with her daughter Roberta in her later career after 1946. This piece has a avanyu serpent around the pot with a signature on the bottom. This piece Has no chips or cracks.There is finish wear as pictured. I have photographed all sides and edges so nothing is hidden.
It measures 5 1/4 inches wide by 5 1/4 inches tall. I believe the piece to be from the 1950s or 1960.
