This is a one-of-a-kind, beautiful handcrafted piece of pottery by the Zuni Indian tribe. The story goes, that my great-grandfather joined the Army at the beginning of World World II. He was sent to NW New Mexico for training and while stationed there, he visited a nearby Zuni reservation where he fell in love with the people, their culture and their unique artwork. We believe this vintage piece was created sometime between 1935 - 1940 and is unsigned, as was all of the pottery created during this time on the Zuni Indian Reservation. The vase measures approximately width 6 3/16" x diameter 7 3/4".
There is a small crack in one spot, as seen in the photo. This piece has been well-preserved and comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.
