ACOMA WEDDING VASE by S. C. ANTONIA, VERY LARGE AND BEAUTIFUL NAVAJO PUEBLO

Without a doubt one of the most sacred of all artifacts belonging to the Pueblo/Navajo peoples. This wedding vase is absolutely gorgeous. Not for the "tourist" market. One of the largest I've ever seen.

It's 11 inches tall and 9 inches wide. This vase is from the estate of the late Sharon Heist, former reporter for the Navaho Times and owner of the Wild Rose Emporium. Heist had a large collection with many very fine pieces.

Some were very expensive but for beauty and craftsmanship this is one of the best. This vase was made by S. Antonia As you can see in the photo showing the bottom of the pot there is a small firing "chip" that was repaired by the artist. Chip is not the best word as there was never a piece that separated, only a tiny hairline on the surface of the vase. This is the last piece of pottery from the estate.
