ANTIQUE Circa 1880 Zuni POTTERY BOWL PUEBLO INDIAN NATIVE AMERICAN

Measures 5" x 5" dates roughly last quarter of the 19th Century. This jar has an unusual shape with 4 horned protrusions at the corners. This gives the jar both a round and square appearance. There are four identical designs in polychrome on the main body, like that of a more expanded 4 directional star.

The rim is designed with a repeating zig zag design also in polychrome. All the design work is finely done and shows a good, confident hand at work. Condition is excellent with one small crack at the rim. See the final photo for a close up of this crack. Provenance from the late Neil Johnston collection and then from the Len Weidner collection.
