This is an exclusive Native American Pottery Vessel by Santa Clara Native American Indian Potter Corn Moquino. Corn Moquino is perhaps the Most Famous Santa Clara Indian Potter. I acquired this exquisite pottery directly from a private collection recently. The last time I was with Corn at his home in Santa Clara Pueblo was in February 2012.

Corn Moquino has began making pottery in 1963. He is the son of Benina Moquino (Zia) and a Hopi father. He is married to Christine Herrara (Santa Clara) and creates his pottery in the Santa Clara Pueblo where he lives. His children Bernice, Melvin, Marvin, James and Michael are all potters.

Corn Moquino has both Zia and Hopi heritage. Having married an individual from Santa Clara, his work. References traditional polished Santa Clara Blackware pottery decorated with incised designs. Corn Moquino participated in a group exhibition of Santa Clara pottery presented at the venerable Sid Deutsch Gallery in New York City in 1985. Moquino has won awards at various Indian market competitions over the years including, but not limited to, Indian Market at Santa Fe and Eight Northern Indian Pueblo Arts & Crafts Show.
