Early TESUQUE RAIN GOD POTTERY FIGURE w SHELL HEISHI NECKLACE, c. This is a rare early Tesuque Pueblo pottery rain god figure with the original shell heishi necklace, circa 1900 to 1930s, or so.

Rain god is 6 3/4 high, and it is made of typical Tesuque buff colored clay with a pale pinkish white slip. It is in perfect original condition with no damage and no restoration, and it is exceptionally well potted. Note the special character the potter has managed to achieve with the facial features, and the shell heisi necklace is a rare addition. This was just found in New England.
