Early Vintage Acoma Pottery Canteen, Historic Native American Polychrome Pottery

Early Vintage Acoma Pueblo Indian Pottery Canteen, Historic Native American Polychrome Pot, New Mexico. This Native American made pottery canteen is in good condition for it's age, with some surface wear & paint loss. Use the zoom on the photos to get a close look.

There's no chips, cracks or repairs. This is a historic pot from the early 1900's, possibly older.

As with most older pieces of Native American pottery, it is not signed. This Acoma Pueblo canteen has been in my private collection for about 30 years.

It's a pottery canteen with 2 handles & a flat area on the bottom so it can be displayed safely. The pot has a cream background with terra-cotta around the spout & a fabulous geometric pattern of black & terra-cotta on the front. The polychrome decoration has bright colors & fine black lines.

It measures 6 1/2" high, 6 5/8" wide from handle to handle & 5 deep. It's an important, historic Acoma pottery canteen & will make a wonderful addition to any Native American pottery collection. Be sure to check out my other Native American pottery that I have listed.
