Estella Loretto Native American Pottery Jemez Pueblo Sculpture Mother Child Vtg

Estella Loretto Vintage Pottery Sculpture. Estella is known world-wide not only for her pottery, jewelry and small bronze creations but also as the only Native American woman working in large bronze sculptures.

Her awards and recognition are too numerous to list here. Her art is found in private collections, museums and institutions. Having Alan Houser as a mentor, the student, Estella, has developed into an artist eligible for classification with the most famous, successful and recognized Native American artists.

This particular sculpture has great significance. Having known Estella personally since the 1970's, I was thrilled when she and her husband John Eagle Day announced her pregnancy. In this small pottery sculpture, you can see her daughter peeking out from her mother's skirt. A very personal and meaningful piece, Estella is now a grandmother!

Still hard for me to believe! All of Estella's works are unique and worthy of praise, but this piece is charming, personal and delightful. The item "Estella Loretto Native American Pottery Jemez Pueblo Sculpture Mother Child Vtg" is in sale since Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
