We are pleased to present this beautiful piece of Jemez. Pottery featuring the Avanyu Serpent which goes entirely around the pot. The Avanyu Serpent is both respected and feared and symbolic of the search for water. Feathers are etched along the body of the serpent. The pot stands 4 1/2" tall by about 4 1/2" across at widest.
The top three quarters portion of the pot is done is sgraffito technique with the bottom being smooth and having mica within the clay. Gorgeous piece of pottery that will sure to be a highlight of any collection.
Signed on the bottom by the artist. This item is new and never owned. No chips cracks or dings. I try to think of most details in a listing however should you have questions please do not hesitate to.
