Maria Poveka Montoya Martinez blackware/plainware San Ildefenso pot, made during Maria's solo plainwares period, between 1956 and 1965. Clear, clean beautiful pot, with no chips, cracks or repairs. This pot has a beautiful soft, traditional stone-polished finish.

It has one minor mark of manufacture, which is a small dimple or depression which is common in the San Idelfonso pots, and occurs when air bubbles are not visible until later stage in slipping and polishing. The mark is small, shallow, and measures 3/8 across, and does not affect the beauty of this special piece , and are quite common in pueblo pots please see photos. Pot measures 2 7/8" across and 4" high, and is signed'Maria Pokeva' on the bottom.
