Native American Storyteller by the infamous Cochiti pueblo potters Mary (1937-) and Leonard Trujillo (1936-) who have been a husband and wife team making storytellers since the 1980's. Mary married into the Cochito pueblo and learned to make storytellers from her mother-in-law the famous Helen Cordero.

Helen Cordero for the most part invented the storyteller and made them famous on the Cochiti pueblo with her storyteller that was featured on the cover of a 1972 Sunset magazine. Mary and Leonard are some of the few that continue to make larger storyteller pieces and are considered some of the most prestigious potters on the pueblo with their work being displayed at the Heard Museum and School of American Research. This piece is signed on the bottom by the husband and wife team. Dimensions: 7" t x 5" x 5.

Condition: Excellent, note natural patina to piece and areas of thinner and lighter paint, no chips noted. Note wear to the bottom of the piece.
