This beautiful handcrafted red clay vase is 6-1/4 inches tall x 6 wide with a beautiful southwest design. The top of the vase is glazed in dark green. Hilda Whitegoat was born in 1967 in the Navajo Nation. Hilda was inspired to continue the long lived tradition of working with art by observing her sister, Susie Charlie, work on her pottery. Susie, who is credited with pioneering the popular Navajo etched pottery, share the techniques of constructing the popular art form with Hilda. Hilda paints on ceramic pottery and uses a sharp blade to hand etch the pottery. She paints and etches on all sizes of ceramic ware available to her. She signs her pottery: Hilda Whitegoat, Navajo. These collectible pieces are not water proof and are not made to hold liquids. Etching and colors will vary on these pots to create a one of a kind piece. Hand Made in the USA.
