Dorothy Loretto Trujillo married into the Cochito pueblo originally born from a Jemez father and Laguna mother. She began learning how to make pottery from her mother and grandmother during her summer vacations. When she later married Onofre Trujillo she was granted permission to use the Cochiti clay and her husband's aunt Damacia Cordero, taught her to make pottery in the Cochiti style.

Dorothy is known for her storytellers and nativities and one of her storytellers is on display at the Smithsonian in Washington D. This piece is signed on the bottom. Dimensions: 6" t x 3" x 3.
