Picked this once in a lifetime find from an estate sale a lady and her son were having. The woman told me she found this pot just sticking out of a hill side, sitting on a hard surface ledge. She said it was just sitting there, plain as day, in the mud.
I assumed it was local mimbres pottery, as I live in the southwest. But, I was soon advised it was found near Susquehanna Pennsylvania on 30 acres her of privately owned farm/county land, in the 1960s. The interior still has mud inside and I'd assume the missing pieces may be inside, in the mud. The mud moves freely inside and will have some bubble wrap inside to prevent shifting..
