Prehistoric Pottery Native American Polychrome Jar Olla Casas Grande. This is a very nice example of a hand painted jar or olla from the Casas Grandes region of the American southwest.

The top portion of the container has an off white slip glaze with black and red designs applied over the base color. The lower half of the container has been left unglazed and is earthen in color. There is a red triangular spiral between a black shell design and a black staircase, and an eye depicted on the opposite side.

Dementions: This jar sits 5" (inches) tall, and has a diameter of 5 3/4"(inches) at the widest point. The width of the jar mouth is 3(inches). There is a paper sticker label on the outside base of the jar that reads, "Casas Grande, 1200AD".
