Sadie Adams (aka Flower Woman) Native American Hopi Pottery Tile
Beautiful, Hopi pottery tile made by Sadie Adams (aka Flower Woman). It is signed on back with the artisan's cypher - a pretty flower with leaves denoting her Hopi name meaning Flower Woman. The tile measures about 4 3/8" by 6 1/2" and 5/16 thick.

It features a design with traditional Hopi symbols. The tile is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The decoration is also excellent with no notable wear. She supported her family solely from sales of her pottery, even sending her daughter to nursing school. She was very versatile in the pottery she made & was famous for her pottery shapes along with her intricately painted designs.

She was a niece of Paqua Naha (Frogwoman). She also taught her daughter Lorna Lomakema to make pottery. Her work is highly desired & collected. If you have a MAJOR issue with your item being not as described, please contact me and I will attempt to work things out.
