PLEASE SEE DETAILS BELOW: ALL MEASUREMENTS, SIZES & WEIGHTS ARE APPROXIMATE. Dusty Naranjo was not raised in a traditional pueblo environment. Her father was Tito Naranjo, a university professor, and Dusty did not even pursue pottery until a little later in life. She first graduated with a BA in psychology from NM Highlands University and recently obtained her Master's Degree in Art Therapy.

Her upbringing, however, may account for Dusty's contemporary pottery designs. Once she got into pottery making Dusty proved herself a great master. Using only traditional techniques, Dusty is now a well-known potter having progressed far in a short period of time.

This vase measures 5 inches in height and 5 inches in diameter and is in mint condition. It is decorated with hummingbirds against a background incised with meticulously executed fine lines. Dusty Naranjo was born into the Santa Clara Pueblo.

Dusty learned to hand coil traditional pottery when she was about 20 years old. She was inspired to learn the art of pottery making by observing her mother and her brother, Forest Naranjo, both well known pottery artists from the Santa Clara Pueblo. Dusty continued hand coiling the sienna style which is a color in-between that of the traditional Santa Clara black and red.

The sienna style or technique is the style the Naranjo family is well known for. Dusty etches animals, geometric designs and symbols on her pottery to add a bit of contemporary flare to her traditional pottery. WE LEAVE FAIR AND HONEST FEEDBACK VERY SOON AFTER RECEIVING THE SAME.
